What is a College Graduate looking for?

     When college students graduate, the need for jobs are something that can be hard done by. In todays society, students are looking for jobs that give them a strong opportunity to showcase their skills that they may have learned, but also give them the opportunity to learn. Although it may be difficult to understand what graduates are looking for, here are some tips for businesses who are looking to bring some fresh faces into their business family. 

    First off, college graduates are looking for somewhere that is going to give them career development. Students are looking for something that is going to give them help in their career. Whether that is being able to learn different skills that are going to help them in their future, or help them continue to grow in the company. Nobody is hoping to be at the bottom of a company. They want to develop and grow within their own skills. 

    Second, graduates are looking to have a mix of life and work. Being able to have a social life and a work life is something that I believe everyone looks for, but in saying that, a young person is definitely hoping to have a steady ratio of work and play. That would include having flexible work hours, being able to work on productivity compared to just hours, and being able to work from home if there is opportunity. 

    Third would be compensation and job security. Coming out of college, most students have a low net income whether they were working a low-income jobs to just get by, so having a steady compensation and job security is something that will be very important. Having that net of knowing that they have money and being able to pay bills will give them the opportunity to have less stress and focus on their work. Which will evidently produce better work.
