Throwback  Thursday !  Today ’s throwback  Thursday  is Yankees legend George  “Babe” Ruth.  Babe was born  on February 6th, 1895  in Pigtown, Baltimore, Maryland. The Great Bambino was a larger than life figure that loved everyone and everyone loved him. Not only was he a phenomenal baseball player, he was a staple in the community who loved to help everyone around him.  Ruth started his career playing for the Boston Red Sox where he quickly became the best player in the league. He played almost every position including pitcher where he won 23 games for the Red Sox and eventually won the leagues home run title in 1919. This is something that has never been done in modern era of baseball since.   Yankees continue strong off-season New York-  The New York Yankees have continued their big off season signing free agent and former World Series MVP Cody Bellinger for 5 years 300 million dollars. This  is one of the most expensive contracts ever done in the MLB.  Bellinger, 25 is one of the MLBs brightest stars winning a World Series before the age of 24 capturing MVP honours. He batted .345 General manager Brian Cashman was very pleased with how both parties came to a deal. “This is a very bright day for baseball in New York. We are confident that adding Cody is only going to give us more depth in a long season and hopefully a long playoff run as well”. The Yankees also made a big splash in the free agent market signing RHP Trevor Bauer to a 3 year deal worth 154 million dollars.  New York-       The New York Yankees defeated their biggest rivals with a 4-2 win over the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium.     Ace CC Sabathia pitched 8 innings striking out 10 with a 1.22 era as the big man picked up his 14th win of the season. CF Brett Gardner went 4-4 with a home run and 3 RBI moving his season batting average to .333.      Although down some players, the Yankees found a way to get to Red Sox ace Chris Sale hammering 15 hit on the night. Robinson Cano led the yankees with 2 stolen bases and one RBI, continuing his  rapid pace in his MVP season.      The Yankees look to repeat the win tomorrow night as they take on the Red Sox once again to end the season series at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
